September is National Preparedness Month!

Below is a list of events planned: 

Week #1 August 28-September 3, 2016

Kickoff to National Preparedness Month

  • Preparedness Coordinator will be conducting "drills" with DOH-Dixie staff utilizing the new phone system.
  • Preparedness Coordinator will be conducting "alert and notification drills" for community partners and DOH-Dixie staff via Everbridge.

Week #2 September 4-10, 2016

Preparing Family & Friends

  • Preparedness Coordinator will be offering assistance/guidance to DOH-Dixie staff on how to complete their family emergency plan to include special needs registries and pet plans.

Week #3 September 1117, 2016

Preparing Through Service

  • Preparedness Coordinator will be visiting local schools and doing presentations on the importance of having an emergency plan and emergency preparedness kit.
  • Preparedness Coordinator will be distributing "Ready Business" guides to community businesses encouraging every business to have a plan.

Week #4 September 18-24, 2016

Individual Preparedness

  • Preparedness Coordinator will be offering assistance/guidance to DOH-Dixie staff on how to complete their family emergency plan.

Week #5 September 25-30, 2016

Lead up to National PrepareAthon Day

  • Preparedness Coordinator to "prepare" a "hurricane survival snack" for the staff meeting on Tuesday, September 27th
